So Microsoft has broken the "no new stuff" on Fridays rule to deliberately prove me wrong(see podcast). The demo is now out but I can not seem to download it I have seen reports that people have downloaded it and are playing it but I can't get past 1% before it says it is unable to download. I can only assume that there are just way too many people downloading it at the moment so hopefully I can get it later tonight. The demo is 1.17gb which is pretty damn big, and i can't be mad at that because it has about 5 levels of single player and at least one multiplayer map that I know of. If anyone can or can't get it please leave a comment.

This Halloween after you get done trick or treating in your Tifa and Cloud costumes you can settle down and play Final Fantasy XII which is scheduled for an October 31st release (This game isn't out yet??). Yes, the good folks at Square are finally releasing the long awaited Final Fantasy 12 in the states oh and there not stopping there, they thought about all the folks who imported the Japanese version that's why they are sending over the super collectors edition with new packaging and a DVD, no that all the FF fans wouldn't have bought 3 American copies anyways but there you go.

The Xbox 360 demo still isn't out but 2K has announced that Prey has gone gold. It's set to be released on July 11th in the states (they did that to spite me) and in Europe on July 14th on the PC and 360. I'm really looking forward to this, being that it will be on of the only two good shooters released over the summer months (Half-Life 2 ep.1 being the other). Expect a review on the podcast sometime after launch (unless 2K wants to send me an advance copy lol)

We had an interesting show this week, the water in out neighborhood has become contaminated and Brendan doesn't listen to health warnings so he might not be on the show next week. Sony says they don't need no stinkin' GTA, Microsoft says they don't need to stinkin' price drop, the Regginator reveals the 'final' secret on the Wii, Microsoft wants to release a simple controller that no one will use and I give my review of Half-Life 2 episode 1 and suggest some summer games that you can play in the coming weeks.

Sorry about the audio, more so in the first half, I have no idea what happened but sooner or later I will fix this whole audio mess and we will actually sound sort of professional.

We had an interesting show today, not much news but I did get Half-Life 2 Episode 1 which spurred a conversation about the pricing of episodic content and how more popular games can charge any price for any amount of game. We then moved on to a story about GTA IV using the engine from Rockstar's Table Tennis then we moved on to the Playstation 3. Kutaragi came out and made some comments about customizable PS3 and that started another rant which ended abruptly then a mini rant about blu-ray. Brendan did get a chance to talk as well and the new 1.11 patch was released earlier so we had a lot to talk about.

The show was a little late this week but it was probably for the best because a few of the stories broke a few hours before we recorded. This week Brendan and I talked about the Wii pricing, DS lite breaking it's street date, Sony trying to say it was thinking of the tilt controlling first and of course some WoW news. The price, $250, is half the cost of Sony's $499 PlayStation 3 console and considerably less than Microsoft's top-end Xbox 360 that sells for about $400.

Nintendo has set its sights on shipping six million Wii systems worldwide between its launch later this year and the end of March 2007. The company also said it expects to sell 17 million Wii games during that period.

The rumored 360 dashboard update has finally been confirmed. The update addresses most of the most needed and begged for features, such as downloading in the background and simultaneous downloading. There really isn't simultaneous downloading but you can queue up a bunch of items to download and they will download in succession. They also added the ability to boot to the dashboard, fast forwarding in all videos among other things. You can check out all the features and screenshots in the link below.

Once in a blue moon Europe doesn't get shafted by overly delayed release dates of consoles and games, if those games are even released across the pond. Well every dog has his day and now europe can rub the fact that they are getting the DS lite in black on June 23th. I guess we have to give them something, after all they will be paying $800 for a PS3.

Sony has been offered help introducing "rumble" technology to its PlayStation 3 controller by a very unusual source - the president of the company that sued it for using the technology in the first place.

In a press release shortly after its pre-E3 conference, the platform holder said the addition of tilt sensors to the PS3 controller meant it was impossible to implement rumble technology - something balked at by a number of commentators, and widely criticised following the show.

Speaking to Gamasutra, Immersion president Victor Viegas said he'd "offered them numerous solutions to the problem". "I don't believe it's a very difficult problem to solve, and Immersion has experts that would be happy to solve that problem for them."

Sony's 60GB PlayStation 3 will cost British buyers Â425 ($803) when it ships on 17 November, the head of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's UK operation has revealed. He went on to call the machine "cheap" and a "bargain". Interviewed by Eurogamer, SCE UK Managing Director Rat Maguire said: "I don't think it's an expensive machine - I think actually, it's probably a cheap machine. If you think a Blu-Ray player by itself might be Â600-700, and we're coming in at just Â425, it's a bargain."

If Sony had some brains and saw that the PS3 was going to be so expensive they could have made a lower end model, the same price of the Xbox 360 premium with out a Blu-Ray drive. Yes, the developers are already working with the Blu-Ray format in mind but Sony could have seen this coming it's not like they never done this before.

A lot of my comments, not just in this post, are anti-Sony and I know this. But how can you support a company that lies and the drop of a hat, steals ideas and never even innovates as a market leader. Sony has all the room in the world to innovate they could have set up a whole R&D team to think up new ideas but no. After the success of Xbox Live they throw out a horrible online service with a slapped on hard drive and network adapter, then f**ked Square Enix in the ass after the PS2 redesign lacked had drive support which Final Fantasy XI fans were not to happy about. And continually screws developers over with the inclusion on the tilt sensing which no developer (even Hideo Kojima) knew about.

Now, years later they rip off an element from the Wii controller and basically the whole Xbox Live service, which I'm actually not to mad about because they need a good online structure but there doing every thing half assed, I would even say less ass than that.

Every company lies (even Nintendo) but no so openly and habitually as Sony. It makes me sick how they can look anyone in the face after all this. Maybe it's a personal thing I have with liars but if anyone feels differently please write in.

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Sony has dismissed rumours that the 20GB PS3 will not be compatible with wireless controllers, and that consumers will not have the option to upgrade the hard drive.

"Both queries to my knowledge are completely false," a spokesperson told GI.biz.

"Both configurations will support bluetooth PS3 controllers. The only non-upgradeable feature of the 20GB configuration will be the HDMI output."

The Devil Mark Cry series may soon be coming to the Xbox 360, marking the end of the long standing Sony-exclusive series.

Devil May Cry producer, Hiroshi Kobayashi, recently revealed to Japanese Magazine Famitsu that he expects Dante (character within the game) to make his next-gen debut on the Xbox 360 and Wii and not the PS3 as first thought.

I hope Japanese developers smarten up for their own good because all I hear about the PS3 is no help from Sony with the development kits, difficulty programming for the thing in general and who wants their game exclusive to the console for the company that consistently lies?

Because I don't like to read I wasn't totally brought up to speed on the details of the new World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Crusade. Game Spot has a video interview from E3 with the lead designer Jeff Kaplan. The patch looks really cool, hopefully by the time it comes out I will be in a mood to play WoW again, and that should be by the end of the year but that can easily be pushed back to 2007. It is Blizzard after all.

I've been looking high and low for some game play footage of Mass Effect. It's a new game from Bioware, the first in a trilogy. It's getting huge praise from everyone at E3 and a lot of talk of it getting the game of show award but mush to my dispair I have not found any game play, at least not any in watchable quality. I did however come across this interview with the two leads on the game at Game Spot.

I liked Knights of the Old Republic from Bioware a few years ago but I didn't really like Jade Empire but this game is all in real time but I still have mixed feelings considering that I have a very "unusual" attention span so these huge games scare me but hell if it's fun I'm all for it.

This game has alot of promise so go check out the interview. Also if anyone does have game play footage send it my way and I will post it up.

E3 is now over, I have to take out another mortgage to pay for the PS3, do some re modeling so I can make room for all the flailing aroundI will be doing with the Wii, and sit here at my computer drooling for more screen shots of Halo 3 that may never come. Oh and sell a kidney so I can afford 10 or 20 upgrades for my PC so I can play Crysis.

Brendan brought up a good point on this weeks podcast (which will be up shortly). So what features have Sony lied about and dropped from the PS3 since last years E3? Well everyone mentions the missing multiple ethernet jacks, 2 HDMI ports, rumble in the controller, "media storage locker" etc. but what about those promised 7 controllers? 4 is not nearly next gen enough, how are we supposed to do 4-D gaming with only 4 controllers, that's so last gen.

I want my 7 controllers so I can play multiplayer in Killzone that will look exactly like the E3 05' video on my two 180p HDTVs using the two HDMI ports and while I'm doing that my plain old standard definition video will be transformed into way cooler HD video using the awesome power of the almighty cell processor. Next gen gaming is going to be sweet my friends.

Normally I wouldn't post stuff like this but... earlier today Bungie debunked a mock up Halo 3 interface, I haven't even heard of this until Bungie debunked it but if these really are fake they are good. Enough of my babbling check out the screens in the links below.

Game Spot has a pretty good little feature about the game that were mysteriously absent from this years E3. Resident Evil 5 was the most disappointing to me because following Resident Evil 4 it has a lot of promise. I guess it might be a good sign that they are not trying to pump out another RE 4 clone quick so hopefully we will see more of it really soon. Oh yeah Killzone wasn't there either hmm....

Bungie put up a little feature walking through some of the trials and tribulations of getting that Halo 3 trailer to play at the Microsoft press conference, here are some excerpts.

We actually had six debugs all told. Three for the E3 briefing at the theater and three for something we did later. The three at the conference were the main unit - Harold Ryan our studio manager sat patiently backstage, waiting to press "A" after Bill Gates' speech. A dirty little secret was that he pressed "A" on two controllers simultaneously. That way if one of the boxes was accidentally unplugged, or broke, or gasp - crashed, the projector would switch seamlessly to the second Xbox and hopefully nobody would notice.

The buildup to the trailer was not without its gaffes. We spotted one of our own staff wearing his Halo 3 t-shirt before the announcement and quickly told him to zip up his jacket. Amazingly, in that 20 second window - a Kotaku reporter spotted him and actually blogged it. The other blog-related mini-disaster was the fact that the Halo 3 trailer appeared on Xbox Live at around 12:15, before it had appeared at the conference (which was running a little late). A few members of the press in the crowd probably sooted that on their wireless devices - but thankfully they kept quiet.

Gamers who remain sceptical regarding the Nintendo Wii's unique remote controller may be pleased to hear that an alternative, more traditionally designed joypad is also on the way.

Colour scheme aside, the "classic" controller bears more resemblance to a SNES pad than the Wii remote. It's designed for use with both hands, coming complete with a d-pad, analogue sticks and shoulder buttons. The picture released also shows a cable, suggesting that the pad won't work wirelessly.

SCE president Phil Harrison says Microsoft will struggle to hit 10 million sales by the launch of PS3.

I doubt they will achieve that," he said. "I think the clear advantages of the PS3 will mean that this product is very well accepted in the marketplace. We have a great brand and fantastically loyal consumers."

He added that, given the choice, heÃïïd skip the entry level PS3 and buy a top-end $599 version. The $499 model comes without wi-fi, memory card slot or HD port.

May 10, 2006 - Nintendo just pulled a fast one on us. At an after-hours press briefing a mere minute ago, the company pulled another ace out of its sleeve: Super Smash Bros. Brawl -- the next installment in Nintendo's popular Super Smash Bros. series.

Shigeru Miyamoto himself has confirmed the following playable characters:

Pit (Kid Icarus)

Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid)

Zero Suit Samus (the blue "no-suit" Samus from Metroid: Zero Mission)

Metaknight (Kirby)

Wario (Wario)

Under the direction of series creator Masahiro Sakurai, Super Smash Bros. Brawl will feature classic, GameCube-style combat -- not Wii-style motion-controlled combat. That means players who prefer to play the game with the traditional control setup can look forward to using the GameCube control-style they're already accustomed to.

Rockstar Games has just confirmed the week-long rumour of a follow-up to the PSP title Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. The sequel will be called GTA: Vice City Stories and will, most unsurprisingly when looking at the name, feature a new storyline taking place in Vice City.

It's official - the Draenei will be joining forces with the Alliance in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade! We've prepared a massive update of our Burning Crusade mini-site, including a detailed history of the Draenei and a brand-new expansion gameplay trailer. You should definitely check it out if you want to learn more about the history of the new race and their connection to the insidious Eredar, the evil masterminds leading the Burning Crusade.

Over at the Nintendo booth, contained within a glass case adjacent to the classic shell (revealed earlier by IGN) is a prototype for the "Zapper Style" attachment for the Wii remote. Note that you get a joystick for your thumb and a standard gun-style trigger. Not much to say, but the prototype looks promising. We wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being really close to the final product.

May 10, 2006 - Publisher Capcom today announced that it is underway with a new Resident Evil game developed exclusively for Nintendo's Wii console. The game will take advantage of the system's unique controller for a new take on the atmospheric franchise.

The Microsoft press conference is going on as i type this but already Microsoft has announced Halo 3 Fable 2 and Forza 2, all the trailers for those games and more are on the Xbox Live Market place right now.

2:02 Final announcement! For PS3! E3 is so damn exciting sometimes. What is it?!

FINAL FANTASY XIII. FINAL FANTASY XIII. They pulled a serious bait-and-switch on us. Sword-and-gun-wielding heroine who looks like Yuna, flipping her way around a high-tech, futuristic world. No idea what it was until the end when that NAME popped up. Yoshinori Kitase directing! This is the guy behind all the best ones--VI, VII, VIII, X. Be still my heart.

2:08 Sorry, I jumped the gun--Mr. Kitase was merely presenting. Motomu Toriyama will direct the game. And apparently FFXIII isn't the only game coming out of this universe--there's a, uh, mobile game too. Oh. It's Final Fantasy Agito XIII.

Now it's Fabula Nova Crystallis--"the new tale of the crystal" in Latin. They're big on the Latin today. Whoa, wait, another new game? Another PS3 game?! Final Fantasy Versus XIII? They're emphasizing that in Latin, versus means "to change direction." This is a Tetsuya Nomura game, and he's taking the stage now.

Fire? flood? lightning? No playable game ready?

What could be the cause of this delay, as of time of posing this there has been a half hour delay but there probably nothing to worry about I think there just running late, but that Game Spot banner got me so worked up.

I will be watching the conference and have the latest news too you as possible, so you don't have to lag through all the major sites your self because I'm sure everyone and their grandmother (if Nintendo has it their way) will be accessing news off all the big name sites.

In a new video update of the New Super Mario Bros. site they have "announced" a previously unknown (at least to me) multiplayer feature. It looks like hours of stupid fun.

By the way, I checked out the DS lite today, the light blue/green one oddly enough and it looks awesome i have a inability to be blown away by anything no matter how bad I want to but this is cool, I even did a screen comparison and it's a no contest. That is all.

COLUMBUS, Ga. - A 29-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to killing a friend in a dispute over how to use a PlayStation video game console...

...Edwards, 24, was shot to death on March 20 at Priestly's house. The two men were drinking heavily during a barbecue when they got into an argument about whether music should be played on Priestly's PlayStation.

Edwards died from a single gunshot wound to the chest. The two men were friends and met while working together at a foundry and machine shop.

With the Electronics Entertainment Expo 2006 set to kick off next week, Sony has started to ship out PlayStation 3 development units to more and more software houses. The PS3 kits are big, bulky and extremely loud, according to studio sources. An American spy was kind enough to hook us up with a couple of photos showing off the PS3 development kits as they've never been seen publicly before. As readers can ascertain in the pics we've provided, these babies sport a design that would make even Betamax players envious. Also, note all of the USB and dip-switches on the units.

Confirming rumors, Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka has officially left Sega to start his own studio, called "Prope."

Apparently, Naka and Sega are still on amicable terms, as the publisher will contribute 10 percent of the studio's startup capital. Sega said that its support of the company is in line with a plan to help Sega developers form independent companies.

According to Prope's website, the name is derived from the Latin word meaning "'beside' and 'near' future."

A few days ago I posted a trailer for the next Brothers in Arms game for the Xbox 360 and the PS3 a few minutes ago I found an extended version. This shows the first trailer then continues it with what looks like real game play albeit scripted. So if your reading this before the Sony podcast tomorrow or I haven't posted anything yet this should keep you occupied.

The new issue of Time has made it to news stand a little early and in the article entitled "A Game For All Ages" Lev Grossman takes a long look at the Wii. In the article he explains how Zelda Twilight Princess will work with the Wii.

"Now I'm Errol Flynn, sword fighting with the controller, then aiming a bow and arrow, then using it as a fishing rod, reeling in a stubborn virtual fish,"

First up was the first next-generation installment in the popular WarioWare series. While he didn't give a title for the game, Grossman did describe its gameplay in detail. "In one hot minute, I use the controller to swat a fly, do squat-thrusts as a weight lifter, turn a key in a lock, catch a fish, drive a car, saute some vegetables, balance a broom on my outstretched hand, color in a circle and fence with a foil," said Grossman. "And yes, dance the hula."

..the reporter also describes playing an unnamed tennis game. "The controller becomes a racket, and I'm smacking forehands and stroking backhands," he said. "The sensors are fine enough that you can scoop under the ball to lob it, or slice it for spin..."

While Microsoft's Xbox 360 video game console and Sony's rival PlayStation 3 have taken the spotlight, Nintendo's upcoming Wii console has been quietly gaining attention.

Nintendo's new console, pronounced "we" and previously code-named Revolution, could end up being a surprisingly strong contender in the next-generation game console war, analysts say.

Nintendo is expected to detail its strategy for Wii this week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. The conference, known as E3, is the video game industry's annual gathering to show off game software and hardware. The three-day show officially kicks off Wednesday.

1up has the scoop on the next Tony Hawk game titled "Tony Hawk's Project 8". That is apparently the final title of the game. Anyway not many details and I'm not really a fan of the Tony Hawk series but it sure does look pretty. This will be out for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

IGN has let the cat out of the bag and announced Call of Duty 3 for next generation consoles, the Wii is presumably included in the next gen label too. They also have a trailer, it starts off with a recap of all the previous CoD games (Call of Duty, Finest Hour, Big Red One etc.) and their awards so don't get frightened like I did when you see the video clips are from those games and not CoD:3. Then finally at the last third of the video there is a totally scripted (prerendered?) sequence that unfortunatly didn't impress me. Until the screen faded to black and the words "Get closer than ever" appeared which lead me to believe that they had some crazy new game play mechanic, but then I read the IGN write up and this is what they had to say, or rather what Activision told them.

"Through the eyes of four Allied soldiers, Call of Duty 3 brings players closer to the fury of combat as they fight through the Normandy Breakout, the harrowing offensive that liberated Paris and changed the fate of the world. Developed by Treyarch, Call of Duty 3 is the follow up to the #1 next-generation game and is scheduled for a 2006 release."

Ubi has announced a new game for the PS3 today (alleged for the 360 as well). From members of teams that brought us Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell comes Assassin's Creed. From the small amount of footage in the teaser trailer which i think is game play it looks a lot like Prince of Persia but set during the Crusades. Still, it looks pretty and I have high hopes for a game coming from Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell people. have to give them credit for tapping a under used time period.

New Call of Duty 2 multiplayer maps and UNO for the Live arcade are going to be released as well. I hope MS bought some new servers.

A new Brothers in Arms: Highway to Hell trailer has been let out into the wild. I believe that their calling it in game footage in which case it looks great but also could be either scripted or just "mock in-game" clips. In any case it looks great but is it just me or is the animation for your characters hand motion look like a robot? Check out the link on the bottom for a better quality trailer.

While the code-name "Revolution" expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer.

Valve, one of the most revered development houses around with titles such as the Half Life series under their belts, and the maker of the Source engine has announced today that they are developing several unannounced games for Microsoft's Xbox 360 console. No details were given regarding what these titles are or if they are ports of existing games. Whatever they are, they will be made on the 360 using a customized version of the Source engine specifically tailored to the 360's graphical powers and its engineering design.

Along with the 2.7 PSP firmware update today Sony also released the demo for Loco Roco. This game was shown at GDC a few months ago and at the show you could download the demo and now the general public can play it. The website is in japanese so I'll give you all a direct link to the download. All you have to do is plug you PSP into your computer using a USB cable (there are alternative ways on the page) and open the "PSP" folder then the "GAME" folder then create the "UCJS10041" folder because in there will go the "EBOOT.PBP" file. Drag that in there and your good to go. Now go back to the main menu of the PSP (you can disconnect the PSP now) and under the Game section (the controller) slide down to the "Memory Stick", hit X then you should see the Loco Roco logo, hit X again and enjoy.

The demo is in all Japanese but the controls are very simple. use the L trigger to tilt the board to the left and the R for the right, that simple. Oh, and hold the circle button to "break" you little slime dude in to smaller slimes to get through tight areas and once through hold O again to make him fat again.

I didn't finish becasue i'm saving it for later but I had a lot of fun so far coment on what you guys think.

A official trailer of God of War 2 has been released, no GDC shaky cam crap, although that teaser has been released as well. This trailer is pretty long for a trailer and that's a good thing because it's amazing. Me and Brendan will probably talk about it on the podcast so you have until Tuesday if you don't want it to be spoiled, and i'm too tired to talk about it now.

Numbers for the podcasts have risen and fallen on and off with no reasonable pattern. I can't compare the numbers of the shows before #9 because they were on a different server but since the ninth podcast the numbers were between 150 and 170. While not being anything to brag about I'm very happy that more than 5 people care what I have to say. Now when I did episode 12, the first episode I did with out Brendan and Moon the ratings shot up to about 240 listeners to say the least I was pleased because it looked like the start of a influx of new listeners. So what did I do the week after I fudged it all up by having Edwards and Brendan and Moon back on. To say the least those ratings blew, only about 80 people tuned in so I quickly put out a quick public service announcement to try and do some damage control and keep some listeners and for the most part it worked, the next episode garnered about 210 listeners. So using my superior intellect I figured that the show worked a lot better if I was the host and brought in Moon and Brendan for then respective segments later on.

That presumption was quickly erased when the weeks that followed only brought in about 75 people, which I thought was strange considering that close to all the downloads came from iTunes and didn't require anyone to remember to come back to the site and download a fresh episode. This also puzzled me because I introduced "Sequelitis", a segment where I "retro reviewed" a game that should have a sequel, and also in those episodes I had a number of reviews including Ghost Recon: AW and Fight Night Round 3. So I figured more original content, the better the show, the more listeners... right? apparently not.

So at episode 18 there was another boost in listeners as they shot up from 76 to 160, that might of had something to do with the Kingdom Hearts pseudo review where me and Moon were just bull shitting around toward the end and then for last weeks show (episode 19) the numbers stayed somewhat level at 130 and that disappointed me because I was hoping that the addition of the Anton segment would bring a lot of people to listen but hey, gotta learn as I go

So there you have it the history so far of Game Snitch Radio. Now I'm just a regular 17 year old gamer, I have no knowledge of how radio or advertising works and it's even harder with no feedback from listeners. So I will continue doing the podcast as long as possible but for next week and the foreseeable future there will be a few changes.

Brendan is getting a new headset so he doesn't sound like he is yelling into the mic and causing echoing problems and well as a decrease in audio quality. He will be the co-host of the show and will hopefully add some humorous stories and be more involved than previous episodes. But that means that the release schedule has to fall back to Tuesdays. Moon might show up from time to time, but Brendan will be my official 'sidekick'. I have to work on getting Moon a new mic if he ever will be on again because the quality of his mic is probably the worst. So I'm crossing my fingers that this goes as planned and we start picking up a lot of new listeners. I really want to integrate you, the listener more, in the form of a mail bag type segment, recorded voice submissions and possibly listener reviews. We wouldn't have a show with out you so I would like to give back as much as possible

In a slightly unrelated topic, E3 is rapidly approaching, normally the first two days are when all the important news will be given to the general public and the other days are for people at the show to play games and for the press to get interviews. We are not going for a number of reasons but we will have commentary on all the biggest news stories out of E3. I was thinking of a number of different options on covering the event. The first being that I have Brendan on for a Tuesday show (first day of E3) and discuss news as usual and if needed I will have little 5 - 10 minute updates over the course of the week. Option two would be to have just 5-10 minute episodes all week and the third would be to just do a show on Tuesday and then wait until next Tuesday to sum up the announcements after the show. And for all of those options I would be posting links to the most important stories on the blog page. I'm fond of the first option but if anyone has any better ideas feel free to send them in. Also if anyone would like to send in their own reactions to the announcements at E3 please send them in as well.

... Well good news is coming to all you Battlegrounds veterans out there ÃÂÃÂÂÃÂ and a lot sooner than you think! Blizzard is hard at work right now creating new enhanced Battlegrounds servers. These servers will no longer be regulated to a single realm, but cross-linked across Realms to create an diverse PvP experience! Right now they are planning on linking 16 realms together per Battleground server for massive PvP action. You could imagine how this can really help out the Battlegrounds situation, not only will the queues go much faster but you'll finally get a chance to fight across Realms. And the best part? This enhancement is going to be released very shortly; most likely by patch 1.12 or 1.13 at the latest. But to be honest thatÃÂÃÂÂÃÂÂs nothing compared to what they're planning for the future.

Two-and-a-half weeks prior to E3, Sony has dropped the price of the PlayStation 2 from $149.99 to $129.99; heavy print and online ad support for the new pricing to follow.

News will be sparse from now until those days but rumors will get increasingly greater. There is already talk of PS3 not being playable, Halo 3 being show at the show among other things.

Sony Corp. (6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research) is expected to cut the price of its popular PlayStation 2 video game console by 13.4 percent before the end of the month, Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian said on Wednesday. "Our industry checks indicate that Sony is planning to cut the PS2 price to $129 from the current $149 before the end of this month," Sebastian said in a client note.

Bethesda's Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has shipped over 1.7 million units between the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game since it launched on March 20.

Eidos today confirmed that Hitman: Blood Money will be released on Xbox 360 the same time as the release PC, PS2 and Xbox versions ship this Spring.

April Fools is only a few hours away and the fake gaming/tech stories with Think Geeks fake "new" products including their Wireless Extension Cords and Blizzard with their announcement of the new alliance race, the Wisp.

Unfortunately I forgot to come up with some clever April Fools stories, so there probably won't be any news until the April Fools hoopla is over.

A while ago there was a big stink about Black not being playable on the xbox 360 due to it's limited backwards compatibility list. On the recent Back Compat list update, Black as well as World Soccer Winning Eleven 9 and Star Wars Battlefront II. So now you won't have to wait until Black 2 to play a "Black" game on your 360.

Ducks, Unreal, floating faces and lots of fish

In his keynote this morning Nintendo Co., Ltd President Satoru Iwata revealed something sure to thrill DS owners. A new Zelda game is coming to the handheld, and, better yet, it will be here by the end of the year. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass made its debut in a video that showed off the beautiful new game. Graphically, the game is fully 3D using the cartoon style from Wind Waker.

Eidos announced today that it will release Just Cause on the Xbox 360. The game casts the player as an uncover agent sent to overthrow the government of the fictional South American nation of San Esperito. Just Cause features an open-ended design with over 300 missions.

Sweeeet! I knew it was only a matter of time before this got out. If anyone can find the other movies they had, I think there was a Warhawk movie as well as Loco Roco, and some other tech demos send em' my way.

Electronic Arts and the recently fully-acquired Digital Illusions officially announced Battlefield 2142, the next game in the popular FPS franchise.

First up is a strong whisper that the Revolution's real name will finally be confirmed this week at the show, probably as part of Nintendo president Saturo Iwata's keynote speech on Thursday. Long-standing Nintendo watchers will know that each console the company produces labours under a codename during its development period, and so it's assumed that Revolution won't be the final name.

Following up on a Yahoo Games UK & Ireland report that apparently confirmed that the hard drive would be included with the PS3, SCEE told Next-Gen.biz that it had been confirmed all along.

At the Game Developers Conference today, Microsoft announced the delivery of a pre-release version of XNA Studio tools, unveiled the XNA Framework and announced that the Xbox Live server platform would be opened to devs.

A BUS driver has been fired for playing computer game Grand Theft Auto... while at the WHEEL.

Steve Allcock was reported by terrified passengers who heard the screams of characters being butchered as he drove between stops.

It appears after about 4 months after the 360 launch someone has "hacked" the 360. It appears that they have hacked the DVD firmware to play ISO images of games... I think.

Major Nelson has posted his weekly list of Xbox Live's top 10 most popular games and Ghost Recon has shot up to the top of the list to #2. Coming in second only to the immovable object, Halo 2. Beating out games such as Perfect Dark Zero, PGR 3 and Call of Duty 2.

I'm such a sucker for this crap. This game actually looks decent, seems like Microsoft has a big hit on their hands if all goes well. Just check out the video you can't help but to smile. Maybe it's the colors that hypnotized me but I like it. Follow the link to check out the video. I hope the animation is as good in game as it is in the TV series.

There were demos at the press conference and other videos of in game stuff, It looks great. I'll post it as i find it.

A decent amount of information was revealed at the 2006 PlayStation Business Briefing. Here are 10 points made by Ken Kutaragi in addition to earlier Next-Gen.biz coverage...

1. Kutaragi stated that Sony expects to sell to manufacture 6 million PlayStation 3 units by the end of fiscal 2006, ending March 31, 2007. That's less than 6 months after launch.

2. As reported, the PSP will soon support an emulator to play original PlayStation games. The games will be stored on memory sticks via e-distribution.

"In an interview posted on Nintendo Europe's webpage, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed there will be extra features for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess when played on the Revolution. "And one of the most important features is that, because Revolution can run GameCube software, when you play Twilight Princess on Revolution you can take advantage of the Revolution controller," said Miyamoto in the interview."

Microsoft and Rare have unveiled there rumored Viva PiÃÂata project we talked about a few weeks back on the podcast. This is a new franchise that will include a saturday morning TV series on Fox 4Kids network and if it picks up any steam will spawn collectibles out the ass.

Viva PiÃÂata will offer a number of entertainment elements enjoyable for everyoneÃïïfrom kids to adults. The Viva PiÃÂata world will include a Saturday morning 3-D animated television series, slated to premiere this fall on 4Kids TVÃï on FOX. The series will be produced and created by 4Kids Entertainment, known for such powerhouse properties as Yu-Gi-Oh!ÃÂ, PokÃÂmonÃÂ, Cabbage Patch KidsÃÂ, and Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesÃÂ.

Another week, another episode. I'm at it by my lonesome again this week. Pretty decent news this week I talk about God of War 2 and get off tracked a few times talking about the console wars. No good rumors this week, but I have a review of Fight Night Round 3 as well as a new segment that I can't think of a catchy name for where I talk about a game that deserves a sequel, I talked about Freedom Fighters for this weeks edition. I forgot to rant about in game ads being fueled off Fight Night but I'll save it for another day. Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter review is coming next week. For now enjoy this episode.

Square-Enix' epic PS2 game is released in Japan next Thursday and is likely to break sales records. It scored the maximum 40 out of 40 in this week's Famitsu following Soul Calibur, Zelda: Ocarina, Zelda: Windwaker, Vagrant Story and Nintendogs. Famitsu uses a system of four reviewers each of whom must rate a game out of ten.

Hamilton Chu, Michael Evans, Andy Glaister, and Steve Theodore have joined forces to form a new independent development studio, Giant Bite Games. These four have extensive experience in the industry having worked on Halo, Halo 2, Half-Life and more.

The firm says it will work with Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane to recreate the cartoon comedy for games consoles. The title will be handled by High Voltage Software.

This is a multi-player demo, but it can only be played online with an Xbox Live Gold account. Silver members can download the demo but their gameplay experience will be limited to offline 1-1 split screen. Gold members get the full 8 player destruction experience.
